Explanatory Notes on Main Statistical Indicators
Business Revenue refers to the total incomes of hotels and catering units from services providing or goods selling in operating activities, including : incomes from hotels, incomes from catering services, incomes from sales of goods (including value-added tax) and other incomes. Business revenue excludes the incomes of the sideline industries units from catering services and goods selling.
Incomes from Hotels refer to the incomes of hotels and catering units gained for providing hotel services in operating activities. It excludes the incomes of the sideline industries units from hotel services.
Incomes from Catering Services refer to the incomes of hotels and catering units gained for providing catering services in operating activities, including: various foods being sold after cooking and concocting, such as income from staple food, stir-fry food and salad etc. It excludes the incomes of the sideline industries units from catering services.
Sales of Goods refer to sales of goods sold to other units or individuals(including the goods sold to the unit inside, and including value-added tax).This indicator reflects the total sales(including value-added tax) of goods of hotels and catering units. It excludes the incomes of the sideline industries units from goods soling.
Other Incomes refer to the other incomes in the turnover beside the incomes from hotels, catering services and sales of goods(including value-added tax).
Tourists refer to the persons leaving their resident countries (or resident districts) for other countries (or districts) for the purposes of leisure, entertainment, sight-seeing, vacation, visiting relatives or friends, medical treatment, shopping, attending conference, or to engage in economic, cultural, sports and religious activities, continuously staying for less than 12 months, and not having the main purpose of being paid by their activities. Tourists excludes the persons regularly traveling round for studying or working, and is divided into overnight tourists and one-day tourists by the length of their visiting periods.
Number of Visitor Arrivals refers to the number of tourists of foreigners, Chinese compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who come to China (mainland) within the reference period for sight-seeing, vacation, visiting relatives, medical treatment, shopping, attending conference, or to engage in economic, cultural, sports and religious activities. In compiling statistics, each time of visitor arrival is counted as one person-time. The number of visitor arrivals includes the number of overnight visitor arrivals and one-day visitor arrivals.
Number of Domestic Tourists refers to the number of Chinese (mainland) residents who travel within China (mainland) for sight-seeing, vacation, visiting relatives, medical treatment, shopping, attending conference, or to engage in economic, cultural, sports and religious activities. In compiling statistics, each time of traveling is counted as one person-time.
Number of Chinese Residents Going Abroad refer to the number of Chinese (mainland) residents going to other countries, Hong Kong Special Administrative region, Macao Special Administrative region and Taiwan for on official or private purposes, for sight-seeing, vacation, visiting relatives, medical treatment, shopping, attending conference, or to engage in economic, cultural, sports and religious activities. In compiling statistics, each time of leaving is counted as one person-time
Tourist Income refers to the total expenditure paid by tourists or delegates of tourists (visitor arrivals or domestic tourists) during their journeys. It should include the tourist (overnight or one-day) expenditure for transportation, visiting, accommodation, catering, shopping, entertainment, purchasing gifts and souvenirs for families and friends during the whole journey, and exclude shopping for business purposes, capital or trading investment for buying real estates, lands, motor vehicles and ships, cash given to relatives and friends, and donations for public institutions. Tourist income includes foreign exchange earnings from international tourism and income from domestic tourism.
Foreign Exchange Earnings from International Tourism refer to the total expenditure of foreigners, overseas Chinese, Chinese compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan during their stay in the mainland of China on transportation, sighting, accommodation, food, shopping and entertainment.
Income from Domestic Tourism refer to expenditure of domestic tourists on transportation, sighting, accommodation, food, shopping and entertainment while they travel.
