Explanatory Notes on Main Statistical Indicators
Developed Area refers to lands expropriated in urban administrative areas and sectors actually constructed and developed for non-agricultural production and living, it includes continuous parts in downtown area and lands for city construction that spread around outskirts and have close relation with city and have general perfect public administrative facilities(such as aerodrome, waste water treatment works and communication stations).
Area of Land for Residence refers to lands for construction in cities, including residential buildings and buildings up to residential quarters and accessorial public service facilities, roads, green land and so on.
Land for Public Facilities refers to lands for construction of institutions or facilities of administration, economy, culture, education, health care, sports, scientific research, designing services and so on serving the society in cities.
Land for Industry refers to lands for construction of productive workshops, storages, yards and buildings of industry and mining enterprises in cities.
Number of Service Facilities in Community refers to number of nonprofit institutions£¬ set up by the urban sub-district offices or Neighbourhood Committees by the end of the reporting period, providing services for the residence in community especially the elderly, disabled persons and children, such as the Welfare facilities : community service center, activity stations, service stations, homes for the elderly, apartment for the elderly, working and treatment station for disabled persons, housework service stations, dating agencies and the service institutions for the social security of staff and workers in report period. Various community service units counted as one community service facilities if they share the same ground. The conditions are: (1) separated accounting units; (2) permanent employees; (3) certain service items; (4) certain grounds.
Number of Residents with Lowest Cost-of-living Protected refers to number of residents draw the lowest security cost in cities developing the system of lowest cost-of-living of residents, including persons without fixed habitation and work and effective identity, unemployed persons, in-service and lay-off staff , retired persons and so on.
Year-end Area of Roads Paved refers to the area of roads (except earth roads) whose paved road surface width are 3.5 meters and above. It includes high-class, less high-class and ordinary roads, and excludes earth roads and bystreets whose inner road surface is less than 3.5 meters. Area of roads just includes the area of road surface and area of plazas, bridges and parking lots communicating with road, excluding flower beds in street center, curb stones, pavements and road shoulders.
Total Length of Sewer Pipelines Sewer pipelines refer to system made up by pipelines and their appurtenant works for collecting and discharging polluted water, waste water and rain water, including artery pipelines, branch pipelines and lines leading to treatment works. All of the pipelines operating for drainage should be counted as sewer pipeline system, wherever they are built. According to nature of drainage, pipelines can be divided into sewer pipe, rain pipe and combined pipe.
Comprehensive Productive Capacity of Water Supply refers to the comprehensive productive capacity of catching water, cleaning, transportation and supply of water sources owned by various units and tap water works belong to tap water companies of city construction department system, and it gives priority to the weakest link of these four links. The increased capacity from overwork should not be figured in.
Volume of Water Supply refers to the total volume of water supply by the tap water works, including the effective water supply and loss.
Population with Access to Tap Water refers to the year-end actual population with access to tap water for residential use, including non-agricultural population and agricultural population.
Total Supply of Gas (Manufactured Gas & Natural Gas) refers to the total volume of gas supply to urban production users, residential users and other users by urban gas enterprises
Population with Access to Gas refers to the population with access to gas in the report period.
Year-end Total Operating Public Buses & Trolleys refers to total number of vehicles of city public traffic enterprises able to operate. It includes vehicles in good condition, in mending, waiting for mending, stopping operating and planning to reject but not yet approved by superior departments. It excludes the non-operating vehicles such as tank trucks, trucks and other special vehicles belonging to public traffic enterprises, and also excludes passenger vehicles borrowed or rented in.
Year-end Total Operating Public Buses & Trolleys refers to total number of passengers. It includes person-times of passengers with common tickets, person-times of passengers with commutation tickets and person-times of passengers chartering buses or trolleys.
Year-end Total Number of Taxi refers to the total number of operating vehicles approved by relevant departments exclusively for renting business. It includes number of cars, vans and buses.
Area of Green Areas refers to the area of all kinds of green land used as gardens and green areas by the end of reporting period, including the area of park green land, production green land, protection green land, accessorial green land and other kinds of green land.
Park Green Area refers to green areas open to the public for amusement and rest with the facilities of amusement, rest and services. Its function includes perfecting ecology, beautifying landscape, and preventing and reducing disaster. Park green areas include comprehensive park, community park, theme park, linear park and roadside green space. Total areas of comprehensive park, topic park and belt-shaped is the area of park
Coverage Area of Plantation in Developed Areas refers to the area of vertical projections of trees, shrubs and perennial herb for plantation managed by various units in developed areas. It includes plantation covered area of roads outside gardens and green areas (separation zones beside roads, central green islands and coverage area of boulevards and sideway trees) and coverage area of single trees.
